I actually used to like it. Did a course in year 6, had trampolining at various points in year 7-11 and hated it. My body isn't flexible, it prefers to be doing something, as Andy says not involved in mid air!

I suppose I had better make my way to bed. Not that I have a lot to do tomorrow, go into school, hand in my compositions and come home. Unless I stay and do something useful. Don't know what though...
I'm gonna run away now people - Au Revoir...

I did trampolining whilst at university, and loved it! My weekly challenge was to find the most garish socks to wear for trampolining, the prize pair being pink, purple and lime green.
I really must find out about local trampolining groups and clubs. There's one at our local sports centre, but knowing my luck it meets when I'm rehearsing

Whenever I try trampolining the top half of my body seems to fall faster than the bottom half of my body!

I think my brain would get even more confused trying to do swivel hips (sp?) if YAP was shouting Physics at me

I don't shout the physics at people, apart from explaining it to my friend doing an MSc in Maths

.
It's more of a case of, for example, if you need to twist the the basic principle is to shift mass from one side of the body to the other. So to do a seat drop and then a half-twist on the way out, land the seat drop and stretch up out of it as normal; but once in the air, and out of a seat position drop one arm to your side - that will begin a twist as some mass has been shifted to one side of your body

. To do swivel hips, go into a seat-drop position from there before landing.

That's how somersaults are done: when coming up from the bed, push your hips upwards and backwards behind you. The result is your bottom half, from your hips downwards, is rising faster than your front; and a somersault results

The garish socks are in the wash, so today's are a terribly sensible navy blue.
Enough about my hosiery for the moment. Kettle's on for anyone who'd like a drink.

Morning Barry. Help yourself to tea if you'd like some.
It looks to be a nice day here today as well. There's an strange yellow thing in the sky which I think might be the sun. I hope today does indeed bring theory results. Do you realise it's five weeks ago today since the exam?
And Chez Deborah is still tidy! I'll have to send Husband overseas more often

Got music out from library too: Una Mattina and some Clementi Sonatinas that people on here seem to talk about a lot.

Hey guys
How is everyone? I'm just been on a sleepover at a fruiend's house (well I actually got back yesterday but i've been sleeping practically all day!), and I've been trying to work out the frequency of the different octaves for my tuner. Any ideas?
nicki_flute
Apr 5 2006, 04:18 PM
No sorry PD
YetAnotherPianist
Apr 5 2006, 04:19 PM
The A above middle C is 440Hz. To go an octave below that, divide by two; to go an octave above that, multiply by 2

.
purple dolphin
Apr 5 2006, 04:20 PM
Thanks. It already has the A above middle C set in it, but it didn't explain how to get any other octaves, and I knew that it could go up to C8.

Doesn't seem to want to work. The highest it lets me go is 480, then it wants to go back to 410.
