It sometimes make me wonder about the future of this place. Will it ever die? Will we still be meeting up in 20 years' time for concerts? Who knows...
Deborah
Apr 20 2006, 10:19 AM
In 20 years' time, we'll still be posting in CISD, reminiscing about the 2006 forums concerts. Those who are currently teenagers will be moaning about the 2026 teenagers; the current thirtysomethings will remind the 2026 thirtysomethings what they were like as teenagers.

In 20 years time (from now) I will be nearly 39. That makes me feel really old. I already feel old enough as I am 10 years older than one of my friend's sister's (

All of that partying is bound to take its toll on your face, making you look old beyond your years.
Maybe I should party a bit more: a couple of weeks ago someone asked me if I was a student

Deb, my dear, I'm only 17, I don't do *THAT* much when I'm out, usually sit down and talk, how on EARTH can a couple of parties/nights out make me look 20 years older when I'm still in my teens? (Don't get wise with me woman, or you MrB)

MrB, if I may be so bold to ask: are you going for FTCL rather than FRSM to postpone the written requirements until you have fewer commitments (theory exams, OU modules, BB4.0) ?
mrbouffant
Apr 20 2006, 11:43 AM
Hello YAP.. I keep flitting between which organ exam I might attempt next.. The FTCL repertoire is harder than the FRSM and the programme for the latter is ready to roll... The nemesis is of course the written submission. I'm all in a tizz about what to write about since the scope in the 2005 syllabus seems somewhat wider than that in the original. This very morning I've exchanged emails with Dr Nigel Scaife - Syllabus Principal at the ABRSM - and he's given me some advice and will comment on any draft outline I knock up which is very useful, so I feel a bit more disposed towards it now

Oh, I see. How's FLCM compared to the other two, just out of interest?
FRSM and FTCL piano have similar repertoire as far as I can tell: only half a dozen works are listed for FTCL, of which some (most?) are on the FRSM syllabus.

My FLCM recital will hopefully be the FTCL one with an additional 15 mins (probably taken up solely by the post 1945 work which is required)
That's assuming they agree the programme which has to be pre-approved (my FTCL one was approved a month or two ago)
