As I said yesterday, the reason you have a half term is so that you can rest and refresh yourself. You don't achieve that by spending the whole time swotting. And it doesn't do your brain any good to go without rest.
You will perform much better in your exams if you give yourself rest and relaxation. Your memory is much more likely to function when you are not pushing it to its limits.
You say the exam is a 100% one. In my day (a long time ago, admittedly) they were all 100% ones. Do you think that the people who did best in those were the ones who had paced themselves through both years (and it was 2 years not just 1 in those days) or the ones who did a mad panic cramming session in the last few days before the papers?

Incidentally, english homework again, I got this opening, but I need to put it in a genre. Any ideas which one?
As the hours rolled by, he lay in the alley, contemplating. Running away. Not nearly as difficult as he had expected. Running away. Easy. So he told himself. He cried.
He lay there all night. He stole wine from a boozer, went to sleep on it. Lord, how he wished he hadn’t run away.
Next day. He had to do something with himself. He set out to see the city. Saw all the passing families. Happy families. Not like his. He cried. He cried a lot in his alley.
Next day. He wondered around more. Wondering what he had done, where he was, why he was. Didn’t know the answer to any of them. Didn’t cry so often now.
He had stopped caring. Didn’t need to care any more. He was free. He could do whatever he wanted. He didn’t want to be with the people. He wanted to be away from the constant reminder of what he had done, how he had left them, how they must feel, the people looking for him, the complete mess that he was at the center of. He moved to the darker areas of the city. The derelict places. He might die there. Blessed release. Oh, how he wanted to die. Away from this worthless life of his. He hated himself. Death.

There was nobody else there, existing in the derelict buildings of the old town. No more than existing. Absolutely deserted. Nobody to restrain him any more. Nobody to beat him up, to take his food, his clothes, his possessions. Nobody to do what his family had done. Freedom.

No, as long as the work is work that I want to do, e.g NOT biology, I love maths as long as I can sit on my own and do without people pestering me for the answers, I like essays because I then don't have to be creative (but they are pretty boring to do!) and in some ways I like difficult exams because I actually tend to do better on them as they make me think more instead of me just putting down a rushed answer. We can be freaks together!

I just love the challenge and the thought!
Though I do essays for the sole purpose of not doing the expected essay at all when possible, being creative.
I do like doing work, and yes I do like maths, but I don't like it when it doesn't work, or I get an answer that I know is compleeetely wrong.

I like biology in year 7, even though the teacher wasn't that great. But I've had this teacher from yr 8, I'm now in yr 10, and I didn't like her from the start. The annoying thing is though that she likes me, so I don't know how easily I'll manage to get away from her.

I saw it on Wednesday. It started well, but the ending was terrible.
I've seen the Da Vinci Code too - last week! Have either of you two read the book and has that influenced what you think of the film? My friends and I who've read it think that the film is ###### but everyone else thought the film was ok, just with a bit of a slow beginning. What annoyed me was that there was no chemistry between Robert and Sophie.
It wasn't great. Dragged on a bit I think. If you hadn't read the book, I would imagine that you would be a bit bored.

I'd read 2/3 of the book. Having seen the film, I no longer want to finish it. It's redeeming feature was the line "I need to get to a library, fast".

I think when a book is read, one should ignore other people's attitudes towards the author, and just focus on what one grasps from the text...
Digital Fortress is about computers really, an american organisation gets wind of a programmer doing some secret stuff. Very exciting, set in Spain and America, motorbike chases and that sort of thing. A very logical book, with a bit of a twist.

I will be revising, I don't want to leave it all til the night before the exam. My parents keep trying to think of things for me to do so that I don't work too hard.

Yeah, I had something like 9 exams in the week after half-term. Still, I prefer them in clusters than all spread out.
