I read a book about guinea pigs with a little girl in school and there was a web site to look at that had some guinea pig games on it.
I wonder why all the kids want to work with me.....

Hi Everyone!
That doesn't sound good Nicki! Although I did german in year 11 and part of year 12. There was 7 in the year 11/12 combined class but when I went into Grade 12 there was only 2 so after 3 or so weeks they scrapped it and we had a choice continue it by distance ed or do a different subject, I changed and did Ancient History which I got a better mark in then I had in Year 11 German!

Jun 14 2006, 08:58 AM
Morning Carol,
we had chamber orchestra practise today....and I somehow felt I would like to express my anger on the conductor as she never like me...she always tells me off for not stopping when she say so...and she thinks I'm suck on the viola. She always like the other viola player (who is younger than me and have only tried on the viola for a few months...)That guy can't even play a note right or intune!! For some reason she thinks that he's so good that she give all the difficult parts to him and leave me to the easy ones....and the fact that she let him to play the viola in the school quartet and she didn't even asked me!!!!!!! I'm so going to leave the orchestra, I just hate the conductor, she's being racist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jun 14 2006, 09:00 AM
If it makes you that cross - maybe you should leave! Wouldn't you miss out on lots of playing oppurtunities though?
pianist_1210
Jun 14 2006, 09:09 AM
But the point is, what I'll have to play is absolutely humuliating...it is like just minims for the whole piece....I don't deserve to be treated like a kindergarten children!!
carol*piano
Jun 14 2006, 09:12 AM
Have you talked to the conductor about it?
pianist_1210
Jun 14 2006, 09:13 AM
No... she hates me!!
I'll tell her that I'm quitting next week.
Alright, got to go to sleep now, bye everyone.

Half past one. *gulp* But it'll all be over by 3. Until 26th June *gulp again*
carol*piano
Jun 14 2006, 09:38 AM
That's short!
I'd never heard of archaeology as a gcse before you mentioned it.
I wonder how many marks you would lose if you spelt it wrong in the exam?!

Jun 14 2006, 09:39 AM
Hehehe. An hour and a half is long enough for me!!
Do you happen to know what at antiquarian is?

not sure...

What exactly does one do with a gsce in archaeology anyway?!
Choddy
Jun 14 2006, 09:48 AM
Lose the certificate

. That's what the GCSE coordinator at my school said anyway. Apparently we're all supposed to get A*s. Erm... no... lol

Other than geophysics, the ways of surveying a site for evidence of archaeological features are fieldwalking, aerial photographs, old maps, records of antiquarians and phosphate sampling.
I actually did that without the book! Yay I'm so proud!
carol*piano
Jun 14 2006, 10:17 AM
Well I'm impressed - I have no idea what you're talking about, but it sounds good!
See - the chocolate worked!
Choddy
Jun 14 2006, 10:20 AM
It did. Check this:
Resistivity is used to find out if there are archaeological features such as ditches or walls underneath the ground. Because walls are very resistant to the electric current, they give a high or positive reading. Ditches, on the other hand, don't give much resistance as they are more moist, and so produce low or negative readings. A survey grid would be produced so the readings could be read in context with an OS map.
YAAAAAAAAAAY!! 100% without the book!!!
carol*piano
Jun 14 2006, 10:22 AM
There you go then - one A* coming up!
Choddy
Jun 14 2006, 10:24 AM
Hmmm, don't know about that. But I shall do my best. Magnetometry is my next topic on the list! Ooo first let's see what I can do without reading it first:
Pottery kilns and ditches filled with soil or rubbish make the magnetic field stronger because they contain more magnetic minerals. However, stone walls do nothing to the magnetic field because they do not contain as many magnetic minerals than the soil around them.
I know this has something to do with the fluxgate gradiometer, but can't think what. *gets book out*
This is actually helping - typing on here!
carol*piano
Jun 14 2006, 10:26 AM
Yay - I will be able to take gcse archaeology too by the time you have typed it all up on here!
