ICT has pretty low standards though. I mean, somebody made a website in frontpage with a bright blue background (#0000FF!), random cooltext images in the navbar for the links, and using Comic Sans font. They got an A*. :|
Note: this was meant to be a website for a
business!
did they do teh write -up woth it?? The write up is worth mor ethan the actual hard copy!!

Ergh, 0000FF is horrid, eek, those websites look so cheesy and naff.....
I think it should be the website worth more marks thatn the write-up....aaah well.

Umm so do I and it should match the brief/task

It's the same for spreadsheets and databases. I was in a real rush for my database, so a lot of the forms and the main menu I made were just for show - the buttons and stuff didn't actually work. But since all that is marked is the screenshots, they couldn't tell, and I managed to get an A*.
But don't tell the examiners.

I have done the spreadsheet project. I did the coursework and put the screenshots in, forgot to do a section and quickly wrote something up. It was still marked even though it was hand written
(I won't tell)

I don't even know why people get taught to use Frontpage. It has limits, limits that are below the standards of anybody who would pay for a website. Hence, it is completely useless in the real world, and doesn't prepare anybody who wants to make a better website.
The same with the fact that the write up is worth more than the product. If you're trying to sell somebody a system, they don't care how you made it, they care that it works, offers good performance, is easy to use, doesn't look abysmal, and has at least some flexibility. Surprisingly, they don't care that to insert a picture, you clicked on insert. Then picture.
Gah, my little rant over

Addition to rant:
The end user couldn't care less that you made an error and had to correct it, particularly because you made-up the error in order to get the mark and it is usually something stupid like you made the font size 122 instead of 12 and it took 5 seconds to repair and yet you have to take 2 screenshots to show the difference. They don't care how you came up with the design, particularly because for the purpose of the project you wrote up the design AFTER making the project so they would match perfectly. I don't think anyone cares about the system specs needed to run a word processor, as they no longer sell computers without them. And the whole coursework element is rendered useless by the fact that you can get it remarked as many times as you want and as long as you get an A* grade in coursework, you only need 50% in the actual exam which a blind monkey could get.

I bought such a funny CD today. It was only £2.99, but there was an offer in Morrisons for 2 for £5 on CDs, so I got an Andrew Llyod Webber one and "Greatest Movie Love Songs". On Greatest Movie Love Songs the singing is so terrible. In every song it is out of tune, with some with the voice breaking when the singer goes above their pitch range. You'd think they would have redone the track. You can't imagine how people have sold these CDs!

I'm still learning so I'll miss out certain bits of that.
Now, I can't do the beef, gravy, potatoes or Yorkshire puddings yet. My carrots still turn out very undercooked. And I wouldn't touch the green beans. I could do you some lettuce though, if you want (and I am aware that it doesn't often feature in a Roast. Well, never actually. But go on, it'll be great).
