It was pretty horrendous but it was worth it because my salary doubled when I passed.
as you say, "worth it"! but you might have wondered at the time
I did! I was already teaching full-time in a secondary school and it involved such a huge amount of work that it's just as well I passed first time round as I couldn't face the idea of resitting.
With that, as it's 11 o'clock here and I have to get my kids to school for 8.30 tomorrow morning (awful primary school hours, 8.30 to 4.30), I shall say good-night.

I don't know it myself. maby Common Ability Test sort of thing?
Whwn I did it in Y7 it was number sequences(1st day) , if-you-fold-a-paer-and-cut-it-and-unfold-it-how-would-it-look-like questions(seccond day) , and english grammer stuff(3rd day).
The results are out of 150. I got 90 or so in one of them(think it was the grammer) and 120 or so in 2 of them

I think it's to do with entry into High school, so they set a base level and see how much you improve (or not!) over the years, and Yr 9 is the start of the stage on the way to GCSEs -- I think.
Too much to do with theory of education and with politics!!!

It's often the way when you're in the house on your own, knowing what to have to eat.
I've got the converse problem today - Misterjay's working from home, so he keeps asking if I want a cuppa while I'm practising (not helpful, he always asks when my concentration is at its most fragile) or wants to use our PC for e-mails when I'm trying to work on Finale or prepare stuff for Woodford (despite the fact he's brought his work machine home it doesn't connect to the Internet

) I have no idea what he's planning to do about lunch.

Why do they always want to talk when you are trying to concentrate.
Did you ever try Bach 2 part inventions with convesation....?
We always get our own luches when we want them.
I only make one meal a day for the 2 of us.... breakfast and lunch are DIY jobs.

No, but the Dussek Allegro with "d'you want a drink" just as you're finally getting your fingers round the Alberti bass was a fraction trying.
If he's making lunch, it will be a major clattering in the kitchen, which may well have detrimental effects on both my sanity and my chances of finding enough space to make my own lunch.....

Yes. It works fine when theres a teacher! As none of my friends are around, I have to stay in lessons, unlike the rest of them who finish thier work and vanish. Or not finish and cause chaos, in this case!
