Great going everyone. 2 threads in 2 days closed, all your fault! At this rate the forum will be closed by Xmas
You can't blame everyone else, yes I may have had my little part in it, but not everyone else did. It's just as much your fault aswell
Doing it again...

Good luck. Have you had a go at the hazard perception tests too?
Yeah, they don't seem so bad.
Got a nice PM from I-L saying:

My sister reckons that the hazard perception tests are more a test of your ability to play computer games than anything else.
If you see a hazard sooner than they want you to it counts as a fail.

And what may be the 'difficult, but interesting' topic you've picked Nicki?
For History: Salem Witch Trials
For Sociology: Gender portrayal (more specifically, how women are portrayed) in TV advertising and how this reinforces patriarchy

How do you get accents on your 'e's'? On the few occasions I've written French things here, they've been accentless!
Hello Barry
I don't know if you're still around (I went off to read bed-time stories and have just logged on in again). I get accents because I have a French keyboard. But sometimes they don't work and I just get funny symbols instead. I haven't yet worked out the logic to it.
I think I'll just try all the different accents now and see what happens

Go to Start --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Character Map; select a font (e.g. Times New Roman). All the codes are there for you.
(e.g. é = ALT0233*)
*Use NUM padEDIT: Why do the accents turn into funny characters??

hi everyone
a few questions here...
do you spell the french word return 'retourrer'? and is it je suis retouree in the past tence
how do you spell the french word 'to leave' and how do you say the past tence?
It's Retourner (with an n and not two r in the middle). In the past je suis retourné (not sure if the acute accent comes out) (with an extra e if you're a girl, or an s if its plural)
To leave is either quitter (past j'ai quitté) or partir (past je suis parti or je suis partie for girls).
thanks. I couldn't find your post, so I took time to reply

My daughter lost her voice the first year she started school. I took her to school anyway as we were both working and there was no one to look after her and she wasn't feeling ill, there was just no sound coming out when she spoke.
When I explained to her teacher she said "Why does this never happen to the noisy children!"
