It's going - slowly!
I need to work on my grade 6 scales... and need to find my nice tone again that has run away through lack of practice *sob*
It will come back when you've recovered, never fear.
It'd better!
QUOTE
Grade 6 scales are the worst set of scales imaginable. Once you've learned those, it's all downhill from there.

Oh good, I thought it was me! Yes, they're pretty evil, not quite sure what it is about that set that's so evil but they seem to have picked out all the hardest ones, and no related majors/minors to help you make sense of it. For grade 7 I'll mostly just be adding back in scales that I can already play....!

oh well... glad it's not just me.

OK. What could have gone better? (And 'all of it' is not an acceptable answer.

Pick one area you would like to improve and think how you might do it.

Try pouting a little more as you play them.

As we can't see you, you can blow an imaginary kiss and see if that helps.

Sometimes they split, sometimes they don't. They did then. When they don't split they just don't sound very clear.

Let's try a different tack. Try and split them deliberately. Go for a multiphonic lowA/middle A chord.

No, absolutely normal!
It often happens that if you ask someone to try and recreate a problem, the problem goes away. You're well on the road to curing it now. If it comes back, work on splitting the notes again. As soon as you can consciously split them, you'll be able to consciously 'un-split' them too.
Brilliant, Nat.

Sorry if I'm ranting on (and changing the subject), but it's very annoying when I'm in a class where a few people (6 to be precise) just want to sit around and chat. One of those people in that 'naughty group' doesn't even play an instrument, so I don't know how on earth they're going to do the coursework!

Sounds familiar. My music group is the same. Full of 'doss' kids that don't play anything.....
My graphics group is similar. All they want to do is chat and mess around, and they're really behind on their coursework. Somehow I want them to fail because it will teach them.
