Just did that Yellis test and the categories and time limits were:
- Vocabulary - you have a word and you've got to match it with one of the four words; same meaning [10 minutes]
- Maths [15 minutes]
- Patterns 1: Matching identical patterns [4 minutes]
- Patterns 2: Matching rotated patterns [4 minutes]
As nicki_flute said, those Yellis exams are pointless and I agree with her!

Technically incorrect!
'Over' means I have finished transmitting, awaiting reply.
'Out' means I have finished transmitting, not awaiting reply.
Somehow, they still use it in the films. Ach.
Not being mean btw

Ok this guy dies and lies in his coffin. All his friends go and look in at him and find him beaming happily even though he is dead. Why and how come?
Ok since Nat has relented to actually listen to some music to decide if she'll record, here's the answer to the riddle.
He thought someone was taking his picture, but it was actually a flash of lightning that struck him dead! Hence the broad smile and dumbness.

Some of your answers were really enjoyable!

Thanks Ann!! Thats had me thinking all day, and all my friends as well...
Bit of a trick question really, as he DID die happy....we said that didnt we?

That's actually false, when your dead, your muscles relax. So the muscles holding the smile would be relaxed hence he would not be smiling.
I think.

If he had indeed been struck by lightning, you probably wouldn't be able to tell if he was smiling because all that remained what be horribly charred body so nobody would think he was happy.
And ENGLAND WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wooo!! Go England!! First time for 18 years!!

I'll make celebration smoothies to go with the cakes (they're happy-flavoured smoothies) for England winning the ashes and for Purple Dolphin!! Does anyone else take those weird MidYIS tests or something where they think it can predict what you'll get for your GCSE's.... and you don't revise for it it's got like a whole load of English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbally stuff... cos I did them today and I hate the block-building one!! They are so confusing!!

Don't worry about them - they're utterly useless except for league tables. Bit like the SATs really.

Yes, am feeling better now. That's ok. A riddle is a riddle and normally it doesn't hold a LOT of logic. Just 20% would be good

This thread has got English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbally stuff as well

so don't bother revising!

Ok how about this one. There was a very beautiful white cat and a black stray. The black cat hated the white cat for obvious reasons. But one day the white cat fell into the tar pit and she couldn't get out. That made her quite permanantly black too, of course. The black cat looked into the pit at the white cat. What did the black cat say to the white cat?

They were two of a group of triplets. So they were born at the same time but weren't twins.
