Malaysia! I see you're from Spain! I've just learnt the violin for 3 years. I like it so much! I don't know why I didn't learn it earlier!

Which instrument do you like the best?
Wow! Violin-ann, do you recall Zakhar Bron (Vadim and Maxine's VIOLIN teacher)? He now lives and teaches in Madrid! LadyO, you ARE lucky!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, guess what? I had a really strange dream last night. I was in a large hall where there was an organ. It looks very complicated to me and I was intrigued! I tried to figure it out by playing on it for a while. But it didn't quite produce the sound I wanted. I began to feel a bit of panic rising in me. Then I suddenly realised the time, turned to VN and said - Oh no, we're late! What will the teacher think!
Then I woke up. How odd. What on earth did I think I was doing, for goodness sake! First of all, I don't take VN to her violin lessons. Stranger still, I don't even play a single instrument, much less an organ which is well known for being hard! I should have been singing...

*phew* Am I glad I woke up just at the right moment...

LOL, i hate crazy dreams...I always have ones where i'm chasing people thought the one i had last night, i think, was due to stress: I dreamt i was locked in a piano with my gcse exam results, which (surprise surprise) i'd failed, and i couldnt get out of the piano...

Hi CPPF and Oddball,
Sorry to disappoint you CPPF but it was not a nightmare.
I was really intrigued. It was a FANTASTIC organ and I love it! I was only upset when I couldn't get it to play well!
Talking about the grand piano in which CPPF hid reminds me of something. I did once dream about a baby grand piano a while ago, Oddball, and it was at VN's teacher's house. On that day, he happened to be shopping on the internet for one! Very odd, that was... I mentioned the dream somewhere else on the forum. Can't recall the thread at the moment. THAT dream was different. That dream filled me with unbelievable joy!

The thing is, it was, I was thinking about loads of stuff before I can get to sleep in the night....just stupid things, like memories of people saying things and stuff...and if there's classical music on, the orchestra playing it and stupid stuff like that!! It's mad! And this week especially. I had to take the batteries out of my clock the other night, it was really annoying me! Usually, Im not bothered.....
Maybe I'm just weird....wait, haven't we been here before?

My dreams are always eccentric or downright stupid, too.
Many years ago, I was top in school and yet I kept having recurrent dreams that I was sweating like crazy, panicking and failing in the middle of my exams. Re-living an exam in the middle of it over and over again! I even had this idiotic dream long after I qualified. One day I suddenly guessed the reason! I suddenly thought - Hey, maybe although some people tell me I'm very clever but deep down I FEEL like I'm a fake and some day, my clients will find me out! Oh no! When I realised the potential meaning of my dream after so many years of the wretched thing repeating, I felt a sense of peace and never dreamt THAT dream again. it was strange.

I'm off to bed now with mum.
A couple of days ago, I had a dream. Got a birthday present from someone I don't know. The present just suddenly apppeared on my bed! Opened it and inside was cheap-looking yellow and SHINY violin. Then suddenly I saw a swarm of bees coming towards me. Didn't know what to do. Turned round and saw the violin begining to melt like honey! Caught hold of the honeyed violin and threw it at the bees. They then flew away.
That was one weird dream.

I often have weird dreams too. Very involved, and I always remember them in huge detail when I wake up, so I write them down in a book. My other half says that if you do that, then read them back in a couple of years or so, they will make absolute sense what each part means. Apparently it's a deep psychological thing.
I dreamt the other night that I was stuck in a safari park where a big T Rex was trying to eat me, and I was climbing a tree with Kevin Costner to get away from it. (sadly in the dream he was my grandfather).

Don't worry, LO. It's OK to be lazy. Richard Strauss was forever complaining that he was too lazy and he said that luckily he has a wife who would often bark at him - "Richard, go compose" - and then he'd dutifully march back to work! It's true.

Yes, I tell them straightaway so I can still remember the details now. Telling friends reinforces the memory! I still remember the large hall was not well lit!I dreamt the other night that I was stuck in a safari park where a big T Rex was trying to eat me, and

Then there is the very sensible nightmare of breaking my reeds (although the actual breaking of them tends to happen in very obscure ways...)

Hello
I don't drink alcohol. But today I might just need a drink! I am so frustrated! Been teaching my autistic kid a way to communicate with a picture card. He was doing fine with just one card he is supposed to give me everytime he wants a drink! This is no mean achievement as it took him ages and ages and hours and weeks of repetition on my part, just to learn to exchange a card for something from me.
Guess what! For no apparent reason, he QUIT! He just QUIT on me. Refused to give me the wretched card early this morning and just went on the wooden floor and kept smashing his head like nobody's business! To top it up my girl refused to go to school! Yes, she has a swollen eye from an insect bite but it was not serious! I guess she just wants to play the computer and her violin!
Double vodka, please!!! Before I have to rush off as the kid will be screaming again soon.
This cafe is a lifeline, man! Seriously, it keeps me sane like therapy to pop in for 2 / 3 minutes at a time!

I had a terrible day too, spent my free periods crying. One of my friends is going to Scotland to live tomorrow. She told us all today. Talk about a shock! Plus, there was tension between my friends, thankfully it got sorted out, but I couldn't stand it and needed to get away. I seriously though about going home, but I didn't. Then my flute lesson was bad - bad tone, my RH wrist is really tense when I play, so my RH position is all wrong. Then, the mobile phone I was going to get (isn't really a big deal, just annoying), which I have waited for 2 weeks extra for wasn't in stock. So I'll have to wait until next week. To top that off I have a band course tomorrow (10-4 on Sat and Sun) and a lot of homework to do.
