I thought N Leics was possibly far enough North for tea mashing. Apparently not.
Who else round here mashes their tea? Nothing beats a freshly mashed pot.
*pours tea*
What do you think? Has it been mashing long enough?
Jane
Wow - another tea masher - the first I've met in a long time. Yes I'm from Leics. originally
I never mash my tea, and I am from around that area!
Well it depends. When I am making a cup of tea I do squeeze the teabag with a spoon, is that mashing, lol?!
I also make tea the wrong way round, I put the milk in last.

Jun 5 2005, 11:29 AM
What is tea mashing??
Andy-piano-flute
Jun 5 2005, 11:37 AM
Tea mashing is putting loose tea in a pot, pouring on the hot water & letting it... mash. Maybe other people brew their tea?

I see now.....so your are not taking a potato masher to a teapot...

Jun 5 2005, 11:45 AM
Well in that case I definitely don't tea mash! Sorry to not follow your theory!

Good heavens! I turn up for work after my rota day off, and look what I find! Smashed plates everywhere, total anarchy amongst the staff, people drinking goodness-knows-what instead of revising.
*Gets busy, restoring order in Forum Cafe*
There, that's better.
*Hands bananas to people who are nervous about forthcoming exams*
In the south where I come from, we brew tea, but I have heard of it being mashed before. Random tea-brewing fact: in the days of steam engines, the footplate crews used to start brewing their tea as they left London, deeming it fit to drink at Doncaster, several hours later. I like my tea strong, but that's a bit much.
