Well...

A few months ago, dont know if you will remember, but there was a picture of me with a little boy. This little boy was a neighbours nephew, however I looked after him a lot, and even got called 'Mum' by him a few times.... However things happened in their family and we have seen him once in 6 months... Due to different circumstances, we have all been concerned for him... Today, my neighbour came to tell me he is stopping theirs tomorrow and that we are able to see him... This has made us all relieved, and even my brother is looking forward to seeing him...

What made me smile, is that when he spoke to his cousin, he said, 'Will you ask Sophie and Katie if I can see them' smile.gif

Hi everyone smile.gif Back from my adventure on a canal boat... Actually managed to drive a 63 foot boat qhuite well and through some pretty tricky bits *is proud*

Ah - I just had my first canal experience the week before last! A week on the Monmouth and Brecon, which was very beautiful. I'm very experienced with Thames cruisers but this was the first time I've steered a narrow boat - quite different! It was a good week - once I got over the heebie-jeebies at constantly running aground (Mon and Brec is very narrow and only 3 feet deep!). The canal system is a wonderful way to see the country - but I have to confess that I'm still in love with a river's 'living water' rather than the 'dead water' of a canal..

Had a mixed morning - had to get up early to take Mango (Cat) to the vets - we oticed he'd scratched his ears really raw and it turned out he'd had an allergic reaction and it was about spread to his eyes and throat. Anyway, 2 injections and some ear stuff later he seems much better.

Also got some congratulations cards in the post.

Got to do some errands and ring up driving instructor but don't feel in the mood. That could be because I've just read an extremely sad but extremely good book!

Had a week's holiday then away for a week's Kodály Summer School (where I probably laughed more in a week than in the whole of the rest of the year biggrin.gif ) so am having a deliciously lazy day, getting up EXTREMELY slowly, unpacking, sorting, going shopping in a mo dry.gif , calling in on Dearest Pa, feeling so inspired from my Kodály fix and from working with such wonderful, wonderful teachers and students, catching up with the forums...

I saw the doctor (by some miracle!) this morning. Apparently I've got a hair-line fracture to one of the bones in my index finger ill.gif, as a result of repetitive strain. Unfortunately, it didn't take him long to put it down as an RSI, as the first thing he asked me when I walked in was 'how did your violin recital go?' ph34r.gif.

Other than that, today has been pretty uneventful smile.gif. How are you?

I'd been practicing less than usual! I'd been doing about 2 hours each day whereas in the summer I did 3 or so. I doubt practicing was the sole cause though - heavy boxes being dropped might come into the equation somewhere ph34r.gif.

Dad found it rather amusing (!) mad.gif, and mum was just concerned that it was going to stop me from going to the first orchestra rehearsal of the season. Theoretically, I should be able to play for about 45 minutes at a time by then if I keep builiding it up, so I assured her I'd still be going!

Hello Rosemary - I have at least an hour each day allocated to performance in school, and then do an hour or so at home if I have time in the evenings. Also, my violin's usually not packed away so each time I walk into the office I pick it up and play something smile.gif.


Sympathy from school? I somehow doubt it... I'm right handed, and can still type party1.gif.
