My mum does ESOL, which is like TEFL I think.
sarah-flute
Oct 3 2005, 07:10 PM
Nicki: yes
TEFL = teaching English as a foreign language
ESOL = English a second language
Essentially, different names for the same animal, there or thereabouts, though strictly speaking TEFL is teaching foreign people whereas ESOL is for those who are British but don't speak the language (ie grew up in an immigrant home) I think, but I'm not sure there's any/much difference... and I don't know if I have defined those right!
