No, I finished the last of the nothings earlier. But I think there's some SFA's in my in-tray. I'll go and have a look.

I just read your post re orchestra
Never mind - sounds as though there are plenty of other options up in Durham. How's student life going so far this week?

Thanks Floss. I may be going off to visit my uncle in Toronto - I think it'll be just for a few days rather than the full two weeks I originally planned - young kids and long-haul not an attractive option...so going by self...

It's probably the adrenaline rush wearing off.....quite a lot of changes in your life so far, and if Durham Uni (never been so don't know) is sprawled across the city, there's a job getting from place to place as well. Are you sleeping ok?

I'm sure you are already but try and rest up tonight.
It does take a little time to adjust to student life - strange bed, strange noises at night, odd classmates you can't avoid

sorting your own food and washing........
.....but there are also wonderful opportunities and a chance to really experience life.
Hope you feel better soon.

You're being pretty hard on yourself, Nicki - give yourself a chance, you've been there less than a week!

(I used to find that after a term of living in Durham I was quite used to all the hills and stairs and stuff, but even 3 or 4 weeks at home was enough to get me out of the habit... it IS tiring, even when you don't have all the other stuff to make you even more tired!)

Evening all. Today has been a bad day. My GP had to visit me today to esablish whether a funny turn was focal point epilepsy or a pseudoseizure associated with the severity of this migraine. I'm still having sizzy spells. I'm drugged up to the eyeballs. Thank god its not epilepsy, and I'm not going mad either as the cause of all this is the migraine.
Hubby is in Rome.
Matti is watching TV
Alex is at beavers.
I'm managing, but only just.
Sorry to sound so downhearted, but I just want to feel better.
If it wasn't for the good people in Burwell who are supportive friends I don't know how I'd be managing.
Miss Ross
Oct 10 2007, 06:21 PM
Nicki, I wish I could say something to help you but I've had so much less experience than anyone else who has replied to you. I really do think you're going to be fine though...One thing I thought of is to try not to compare yourself to other people. Even if they appear to be settling in really well, the chances are that they've just got different ways of hiding how they really feel. With so many people around you, it seems almost imperative that someone is going to feel the same way as you do.
