I've had last week off, but I don't go back until Wednesday. I don't think I've ever had a half term holiday last more than a week...
Car ExpertI always get two weeks for half term ...

half term has only ever been 1 week for me

does this mean you lose out on holiday somewhere else?

Nope, doesn't appear so. The next two half terms are a week long, the Xmas holidays are 2 weeks 3 days, and the Easter Holidays are 2 weeks 1 day (finish on a Thursday).

It wasnt too bad really: we had from March till October to do it. The alternative was history, so i'm happy that i chose the right subject.

Oct 29 2007, 11:45 PM
I dropped both geography and history at first chance. I haven't done either of them since year nine. I hated them both!!
sarah123
Oct 29 2007, 11:48 PM
we had to do one of them (or RE, but noone in our year wanted to to that).
PianoSecrets-x
Oct 29 2007, 11:52 PM
Really? The only things I had to do were maths, english, english lit, dual science and a language. Then I got three choices of whatever I wanted.
sarah123
Oct 29 2007, 11:55 PM
we had to do maths, double english, double science, a language, geog/history/RE, art/music/drama/pe, a technology, and another subject (i did a level maths, but most did another gcse)
PianoSecrets-x
Oct 29 2007, 11:58 PM
Wow. That's a bit restrictive! So you can't do music and drama? Or music and art?
I prefer how my school did it because it meant we all go to do what we wanted. At my brothers school he had to choose his options from set blocks, eg. he had to choose one from block A, one from block B etc. so he ended up doing things he probably wouldn't have chosen if he'd had a choice.
sarah123
Oct 30 2007, 12:00 AM
yes, you can do music and art/drama (you do one as the other subject).
for some reason though, you can't do drama/music and PE. Loads of people complain about this.

sarah123
Oct 30 2007, 12:05 AM
actually, thinking about it, i'm not sure if i could have done music and drama (not that i'd have wanted to). music and art was defnitely common though.

Okies

I suppose it just depends on what the school allows. If i was at your school I wouldn't have been able to take the subjects I wanted, and maybe the same for you

Oct 30 2007, 12:10 AM

Oct 30 2007, 12:12 AM
For GCSE I did maths, eng, eng lit, dual science, French, Spanish, Latin and music. At the moment i'm doing French, Spanish, Latin, music and Greek As and A2 maths.
You?

Oct 30 2007, 12:19 AM
i did maths (gcse + A), double science, double english, geog, french, art, textiles. I didn't think i should do music because i'm RUBBISH at listening and composition, which seemed to make up about half the mark

otherwise i probably would have done it instead of art.
now i'm doing further maths, chemistry, physics and computing.
