hey, my grade 2 piano exam is on 8th june.

when is everyone elses exam and has anyone got any tips on sightreading

For the sightreading, try to read a bar ahead if you can. But practise this beforehand because it confuses some people.

I find that very tricky. The hard bit about sightreading is not to play a note and then go back to it.

Keep going, if you make a mistake forget about it and just play the next note(s): the most important thing is to keep the pulse steady and keep going (easier said than done!), that's what most of the marks are for, the odd wrong note doesn't matter too much.

I agree. In my grade 3 sightreading i was really bad but got 12 instead of 10 or 8 or something simply beacuse i carried on and didnt stop. ( biggrin.gif i know i still failed sightreading though!)

Good Luck! What have you still got to practice? Ive only got to Practice Sightreading (but you all knew that already!)

Ive just realised that my exam is less than a week away!!!!!
