As per other threads this is a pet topic of mine. But recent experience was as follows:
LRSM :- two months (incl. xmas break)
ARCO :- two weeks
ATCL :- four weeks (incl. xmas break)
ALCM :- four days (incl. weekend)
I accept that these things take as long as they take but the issue for me is how can a Grade 8 result come out in two weeks and a DipABRSM take two months? What is this "mythical" QA process that adds 6 weeks..? What is it about Grade 8 that doesn't merit the same level of intense scrutiny that the next level up clearly does?
Salutations mrbouffant,
Thank you for your input.
Here's hoping that others feel brave enough to post their replies on the subject.
*Note to ABRSM* Just perhaps some sort of explanation or insight into what comprises this Quality Assurance procedure will at least console the jarred nerves of those waiting for results - who in the meantime cannot plan their next move; whether it is preparing for the next level of Diploma or a retake.
Frankly, I remain (as I am sure others also) unconvinced of the extraordinary time as compared to other Boards.
Warmest Regards to all
