I have no idea how to start the video and case study. Should the video show the whole of a normal lesson but this would then be longer than stated in the syllabus, or should it be into two sections, i.e., a shortened normal lesson (say about 20 mins) + about 10 mins of technical exercises?? Are there any specific technical exercises u are required to demonstrate? Any idea for case study too?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The syllabus states that the lesson should be presented in 2 parts

1. A typical lesson between 30-40 mins length covering a range of activities and featuring a pupil/s discussed in the case study

2. A demonstration of your approaches to the teaching of pieces/studies as well as at least 2 of the follwing

technical exercises
sight reading
aural awareness
improvisation
composition
group teaching

Total time should be 60 mins +/- 10%

Not sure if this helps you or not, I havent done the exam so can only quote the syllabus.

Try this link also www.abrsm.org/exams/diplomas for more on making videos

The syllabus given is a bit confusing and does not contain much thorough details. I was looking for more indepth advice about the video requirements for submission.

Thanks anyway for your help. smile.gif

Hi smile.gif

Maybe try posting on the teachers forum? I know there are a few people using these forums that have done the LRSM. Have you done the DipABRSM teaching? I am preparing for that at the moment, any advice? smile.gif

Sure. You need advice in viva voce or in the practical?
