Is it just me or has the viva brass network been neglected lately..... were'd you all go!

One question should i bring my trumpet on holiday with me i am doin an exchange is spain, the instrument is not mine, it belongs to my music school. Some people say just bring my mouthpiece just scared i might loose it.

Any suggestions?

u should not to bring your school instrument because it is not yours. but you may bring your mouthpiece because it is affordable.

I'll only tell you where they went if you tell me where I can find sheet music for the Motorbike Concerto! Ha!..................

yeah i have decided against bringing it i will loose out on alot of practice but hey, i don't think my spanish exchange familly would like it if i brought it! I iwll lookout for the moterbike concerto (i don't really know what it is though!) thanks come back brass players!

I'm surprised that you've given up on thinking about taking your trumpet with you to Spain. Even though it is a school instrument you are presumably still responsible for it when it is in your possession, so where is the added risk? I assume you'll have travel insurance and this can be tailored to cover your trumpet. If you seek permission from your school and the conditions are right I'm sure they'll be all right about it.

Also, if I was concerned about people not necessarily liking me playing my trumpet, then I'd never play it! Go on - take it, and teach these Spanish a thing or two.

ahhh now i am confused! its true i would actually miss my trumpet so much (sad i know)

providing the instrment is insured you should be able to take your instrument anywhere - or just bring a mouth peice - or some mutes
