Hi, im a grade 8 piano student, and im wondering how exactly does diploma work?
I realise there are three choices "Directing" "Performing" and "Teaching"

I intend to sit a performing diploma... does nebody know wat needs to be done? Is there a list set every 2 years whereby i choose a song? like all the lower grades do? Or can i pick any song i prefer? Help?! blink.gif

There is a syllabus with pieces on, I think you can also choose a piece of your own choice

There is a recital section, a viva voce and a quick study (sight reading) and you have to write programme notes on your pieces.

It's interesting to note that the set lists don't change very often (i.e. there were minor revisions in the 2005 list compared to the 2000 list) .... cool.gif

Also, it's probably not a good idea to "choose a song" for a Piano Diploma.. unless of course it's a particularly difficult "Song without words".. lol tongue.gif
