Full Version: Is There A Minimum Entry Age?
Just a very quick question. Is there a minimum entry age for the DipABRSM???? I am 16 - although I expect I'l be 17 when I take the diploma. I hope the minimum age isnt 18!!!
There is no minimum age for the DipABRSM in performance but it is 18 for the diploma in instrumental/vocal teaching.
no wonder my vocal teacher doesn't want me to go for a singing diploma exam.... i'm not mature enough....

I know I'm saying the same thing, but there's no age limit to DipABRSM solo recital. I'm 15 myself and will be giving the Dip soon. But my teacher insists that the standard of playing should high-quality, as he puts it " 1st yr college students playing standard". He insists that i take the ATCL exam this December and the DipABRSM next year. In India, there are actually very few people who give the DipABRSM in solo piano, so maybe that is one more reason why he doesn't want me to give it anytime this year.

Yeh my flute teacher is stresing to me how the standard s much higher than grade 8. But thats good! Just means alot of hard work! I'm glad there isnt a minimum age casue that would be really annoying.
