Chloe Hanslip
I think she's around 17 now but she studied violin at the Menuhin school at age 5 and then at the Musikhochschule in Lubeck. She has recorded 2 cd's with the london symphony orchestra and has won awards for them. More information here www.chloehanslip.com

Thank you very much!!
Actually, I just want some "famous" ones and I will find information about them.
Hmm...
I just found something about Sarah Chang...
She was admitted to the Juliard School of Music at the age of 5 (with a full scholarship). She could already play the Mendelssohn violin concerto, with real emotional involvement, during her audition to the Juliard...
She played the Paganini Concerto No.1 for Zubin Mehta at the age of 8. She was immediately engaged as a suprise guest soloist with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. She played the piece 2 days later, without any rehearsal, with the New York Philharmonic.
She made her debut CD at the age of 9.
Hmm... Sarah is a typical prodigy I think...
Okay, I will work on her. And probably I will find some more info about the ones that you mentioned above.
Thanks so much!!

By the way, Sarah Chang is a very interesting "piece" of study. Apparently, people she works with said she's such a nice person, it's hard to believe she's a prodigy!

You could look up Maxim Vengerov. I think he made his debut at about the age of 10.

MAXIM IS SOOOOOOOOOO... FAMOUS!!! Every person who listens to violin music knows him! Including me, though I'm not one of his fans. We have chosen to buy Sarah Chang and Perlman instead.

there was an article on sarah chang in may issue of classic fm mag, but not sure what use it would be - it talks more about her now than when she was younger, just saying stuff like 'I'm delighterd to have passed the prodigy label on to others. Very happy indeed - they're welcome to it' and she talks a bit about school and stuff!
if its any use, i could attempt to type it all out...

If you go to Maxim's website (www.maximvengerov.org) you will find interviews and articles about his early years and growing up as a prodigy. Also check out "Maxim's Room" on the site where Maxim himself has answered questions sent in, I'm sure some there will relate to his developing years.
Good Luck with the project.
