It's that time of year again, the most famous and popular tennis show on earth. Who else is eagrely awaiting the beginning of Wimbledon this year? Will we see another Federer masterclass? Will Henman EVER win?(no chance in my books) And is there any hope in the British game beyond Tim.
No, you can not be serious! Yes, you can.

Did you see the program on her ealier? It was amazing to see how she lives now that she has won. It's a bit of a shame though because she is doing loads of advertising. I think the fame may go to her head.

Yes, what happened to Henin though and that other Belgian. And what about the Williams sisters, definitely disappeared of late.

yeah its a shame. mind you, if you were in her position, would you refuse someone who said they would give you millions of pounds (or dollars!) just to pose. its not like shes doing it for playboy or anything.
Hopefully she will be focused on the tennis.
I think the best professional around is Roger Federer. Hes the only man to stay around as the undisputed best....hewitt lost it, so did roddick, but federer looks like as long as he stays fit he will be the best for a long time.

No its just co-incidence Nat! Anyway, you know my feelings on tennis in general from that forum, but I do make an exeption for Wimbledon.

Henman is annoying aint he.....that bloody chant "come on tim" waste of energy because hes never won anything. he reminds me of david beckham, totally overrated.

I do! I love tennis!
What do you think about Andy Murray -he's an upancoming talent?
neil.clarinet

Ah yes, that guy from my country. Yes I think he will replace Henman as British number one. Less said about Rusedski though, the better, I think!

Murray is good, I just hope his ankle is ok. But what happened to all the other "talent" like Bogdanovich? I remember him in particular because in year 9 I got to go to Wimbledon with the school and we saw him. The teachers told us to not accept any tickets if we got offered any as they could be fake, so when this couple offer my friend and I centre court tickets we turned them down *argh*. It was only after we told the teachers that they said outside Wimbledon itself. ARGH!

I don't really mind who wins as long as neither of the Williams sisters win. I don't like either of them, but I especially hate Venus.

Yeah, Roddick is pretty cute. Tim Henman just looks like a child when he is playing tennis, he has a really childish face.
saxlover
Jun 19 2005, 11:34 AM
Yeah bless him! I feel sorry for Henman though...he is good and sometimes just doesn't get a bit of luck and everyone gets on his back...it's pathetic...even if he doesn't win tournaments that often he is stil British and we should support him.
nicki_flute
Jun 19 2005, 11:38 AM
Exactly, nobody else is better than him in Britain at the moment, and with the media pressure, he isn't going to playing at his best if everyone is saying how bad he is. He is a good player, just we think because he hasn't won tournaments he is rubbish!

And I don't think he will ever win it because of the pressure and everyone going on at him everytime he does a bad shot..

correction...he wont win it because hes not good enough. No-one would get on his back if he did his best, but you see him every year, everyone gets behind him and he fouls up...no wonder everyone gets annoyed....its obvious he doesnt play his best in big games.

Thank you. Could be the next Kournakova. (well, not talent wise, but you know what I mean)
I bet Henman goes out in the first week, his time has come.

Hope Federer is not TOO dominant though, though Roddick did kind of challenge him last year, and that guy Nadal could be an up and coming threat. We'll see.

Every match that I have watched Tim Henman play on TV, he has lost. Take last for example- he got quite (considering it was him), I watched the next match and he was out!
So, this year I will not watch any tennis

He did play poorly at Queens but I have seen matches where he has played really well and WON. He wouldn't be our number 1 if he didn't win.
