How do you go about looking for a teacher when you want to learn an instrument? I find that it is extremely difficult looking for music teachers, especially for the less popular instruments such as percussion, viola, horn, oboe etc, as not a lot of people teaches them. any advice?

Have you tried asking in your local music shop?
Saxophonist
you could ask the head of music at your school/college

You could also try the ISM website-they have a register of teachers. Try your local library as well-ours carries a list of teachers .
