Just Wondering What The Most Popular Organ Stop Is? unsure.gif

I put Tuba as its the nearest one to bass trombone 32" !!!!

I love the really loud, low stops, as the loud high stops sometimes remind me of people screaming at me wherenver I play them!

To be honest I haven't played on nearly enough organs to "get to know" what all the different "standard" stops sound like, but loud low reed stops do it for me atm.

I'm not sure I have one favourite, although if I did it might be a 4' flute or a clarinet. And anyway it depends on which instrument you're playing - the same name stop on two instruments can be poles apart.

I'm more inclined to go for favourite groups of stops, eg full swell with reeds ! lovely - or flutes 8 4 and 2 for a nice chirpy baroque sound.

The 32 on the pedals (a soft one) is wonderful in the right place.

Agreed! Can't really vote - the choices all seem very "traditional English" organ stops and could have been interesting with more "spicy" baroque / french / italian ones!

...but salicionals always remind me of a cat being sick, for some reason.
