I've just got one of these for my 18th birthday... fitting, because I'm part Norwegian!!
For those of you that don't know what a Hardanger Fiddle is:
It's like a violin, but has 9 strings, but you only bow 4 of them, the others resonate. They're often decorated and are extremely loud! And there's one on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack!!
Does anyone else here play/know anything about the Hardanger fiddle?

Sorry I can't offer you any advice but I was just wondering: is that a suprise present or something you asked for? Sounds like something that will suit you anyway
