I think all of people have someday or many days of music lesson but they didn't study, prepare, n practise well.
What did your teacher affect this kind of situation?
just curious to know. tongue.gif tongue.gif

Sania, I hope you don't have problems with your teacher getting mad at you! I've heard you mention this in a couple of posts! If he/she is being rough with you, you should notify someone; it's not normal for a teacher (or anyone) to abuse you in any way!

My teacher doesn't get upset with me at all if I'm not properly prepared. She knows my school schedule and knows I do a lot of other things, especially for school, and I take a lot of hard classes, so she doesn't expect me to always have time to practise. But *I* feel bad, and I prepare extra well for the next time wink.gif

to be very honest, it's very usual with me to not do my lessons... i usually play a far more difficult piece then, so my teacher is very proud at me! laugh.gif he once told me: conservatory wouldn't be a good study for you. you level is high enough but you ain't got any discipline to practice... dry.gif

Blame it on hormones.. (well that's what we did today after I had a week in which I found it difficult to concentrate on ANYTHING for more than 5 minutes).

We are both the same age so anything that goes wrong is blamed on hormones... tongue.gif

I remember as a teenager (long time ago!) there was ONE week I didn't practise, and I'll never forget my teacher's comments. He didn't shout, he didn't speak in a raised voice, he just said "Well you're wasting my time, you're wasting your own time and you're wasting your parents' money." And I felt so small and ashamed. It wasn't something I'd ever done before - I'd always practised - but it was something I never did again. I just felt I'd let everybody down.

I HAVE used that before, Chocolate dog, but not when it's an unusual occurrence.
Only when poor preparation looks like becoming a habit.

I never used to practice - hated music lessons so only took out my clarinet in the lessons. This was until I failed my grade 8 - not by much - but not surprising as I'd hardly looked at the pieces! I wanted to quit but my parents said I could once I'd PASSED my grade 8 . SO, I started to practice. ONce I did that, I found I enjoyed it - so easily got a distinction the nexty session. Then went on to study music, then teach it . SO practice does help. My tedcher was quite patient with me when I didnt practice - but looking back, I think I would have benefitted a lot more if Id put in some work.
