Hello,
I'm in the process of choosing a piece for my GCSE ensemble performance. I play the violin and would prefer to play a piece with a cello rather than any other instrument. I've been considering piano trios, but haven't really found any that suit me. Does anone have any suggestions for ensemble pieces or piano trios in particular?

(P.S I'd like the violin part to be in the grades 5/6 boundary please, but both the cello and piano parts can be more difficult.)

Some of the Handel Violin Sonatas are grade 5/6 the one in F and you get a Basso Continuo or Piano part with some copies.

For anyone that was interested, I think I've decided on a piece.

Smetana piano trio in G minor. A friend recommended it to me.

I've composed a piano trio which is about that standard. If you've already decided then thats fine but you're welcome to listen to it if you PM me your email address.
ps. I'm not quite as famous as Smetena just yet
