Many thanks for all the advice about my tearful student from a few weeks ago. I got her results today and she got a merit Yay! She was amazed - she was in tears before and after the exam, and had to start one of her pieces again as she was so nervous! She passed all the elements well, including a 27 for the piece that she was getting most upset about!

She had been guilty of playing along with the CD of the exam pieces seemed to be the cause of most of her anxieties, she couldn't keep up with it. It's not something I recommend students use in the early grades for that very reason, hopefully she'll understand now that a good mark is well within her and even if the CD is different, that's still ok!!

Can i just ask what date she took her exam? So I can see how long it took the results to come!!

21st June - results came very quickly! I still have three students yet to take their exams!

Yes, glad she got a good score! Congratulations to both of you! And thanks for the update. I was just wondering about her just now. No wonder she was getting all upset. Sigh.. kids these days.. they'll do stuff you wouldn't dream about.
