Yes... I was in Jerusalem doing some practical maintenance work in a hospital their, we'd had a great day and were in high spirits, and the sjock of what our team leader told us when we arrived back at our hotel was such that I honestly thought he was kidding when he said there'd been an attack on the twin towers and the pentagon was on fire - it felt like it should have been a movie script. And then we crowded round the door of the manager's office and saw the second plan hit and couldn't believe it. It was almost a week before I got home and actually saw all the reports and footage properly, and it seemed totally unreal, like some huge and not at all funny practical joke - it was just unbelievable what had happened, and especially the way those planes just *vanished* into the buildings... looked like a badly done special effect, because if one was imagining that, you wouldn't expect them to just disappear so completely. Horrible. Can only imagine what it was like for those passengers in the final moments... Our thoughts were with you all - thank you for thinking of us.

I just can't imagine how people who were on their way to work, school or for other reasons felt when that horrific event took place - and the explosion on a double decker bus - reports say that it ripped off the top of the bus - it's hard to know what to say - these things make me both sad and angry. I suppose we can all hope and pray for a better world.
