Thought I'd put this in a separate topic
Why is this note so hard to get?! Is it just me?!
I can usually get up to C4 and can get the notes around it
No, it's not just you, Nat. (I'm assuming you mean flute.) Top E and top F# have an extra hole uncovered compared with the lower E and F# than other top notes do compared with their lower equivalents.
Most flutes have a 'split E' mechanism which closes one of those extra holes, making top E much easier to play. This leaves top F# as a tricky note, and, if you're approaching it from below, as in a G major scale, you can get away with playing top E with an incorrect embouchure (if you have a split E) which makes top F# seem comparatively more difficult.
Every flautist splits top F#s now and again, some of us more than others
