I'm putting together aprogramme of schubert lieder and was wondering which are the most popular. My favourites are probably Nacht und Traume for the wonderful sustained vocal line and auf dem Wasser zu singen because of the fantastic piano part that just ripples like a shimmering lake.
Anyway I'm always up for learning more material so suggestions please.

Die Forelle, I think! The tune sounds just like water flowing along!
Oh, and Der Erlkönig, I used to be really afraid of that song - it's so spooky (and the text is too, obviously).

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I've been away on holiday so I couldn't reply sooner .
Well I've looked at the music for der Musensohn as that had the most votes!! and I love it. The music sort of canters along I feel. Der Doppelgaenger is very slow and quite scarey. I'll learn them both because they make a good contrast for a programme.
Any more Schubert fans?
