Booo sad.gif to Leics.
Car Expert
Must be a good game at Gigg Lane - already 3-2 to Bury at half-time (against Weymouth)!

Car Expert
Car Expert
A big shock at the Bescot Stadium - Macclesfield have won their first game of the season, beating Walsall 1-0! ohmy.gif

Car Expert
Car Expert
And Macclesfield are now winless in the League for 19 games - can they beat Newport County's record of 25?

Reading won - they're now 1 point away from a Champions League place cool.gif biggrin.gif

Charlton have got their first point under new manager Les Reed after Andy Reid scored for them to earn a 1-1 draw, while Cardiff, Preston and Birmingham are tied on 37 points at the top of the Championship. The 9th December will see Birmingham and Preston face each other at St Andrews - should be a good game!

Car Expert
Car Expert
Looks like we're already in for an FA Cup shock - Hereford are now 3-0 up against Port Vale ohmy.gif

Bet Leics. will lose today biggrin.gif

THe second and third goals were penalties, yes. smile.gif

Ah. Just found out Leics are playing today. Not that you wanted to know that smile.gif Where are Arsenal in the Premiership these days?

Third at the moment, but may all change this afternoon as everyone else plays. They have maintained their record of either winning 3-0 or drawing 1-1 in every Premiership home game this season. ohmy.gif
nicki_flute
...and Leicester are losing...to a penalty.

I bet we'll equalise and then lose to an own goal in the 89th minute wink.gif
Car Expert
Reading are winning biggrin.gif

Liverpool have already thrashed Wigan 4-0 at half-time...

Car Expert
nicki_flute
Charlton are winning too smile.gif

Car Expert
Basingstoke have just earned a home replay against Aldershot in the Cup. Can't believe they're bottom of the Conference South! laugh.gif

Car Expert
nicki_flute
Where are Aldershot? Tamworth are winning me thinks too.
Car Expert
Aldershot are 9th in the Conference smile.gif

Hope Tamworth win.

Car Expert
nicki_flute
Me too. Right, work time, hopefully it'll be good news for Leics. in half an hour's time!
nicki_flute
Eeek...heard the radio say "Leicester 1" and thought "ooh, they were losing last time", but then heard them say "Sheffield 3" sad.gif
barry-clari
Charlton once again snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.......
nicki_flute
Teehee...I don't even want to look up how many goals Leics lost by.
Car Expert
A win, or even a draw at Newcastle on Wednesday will put Reading in a Champions League place! biggrin.gif Wish the season would end now! laugh.gif

Am currently watching the Salisbury game, and it seems to be a good match!

1-1 now biggrin.gif

Car Expert

Selected ties for FA Cup 3rd round....

Reading v Burnley

Leicester City v Fulham

Salisbury or Nottingham Forest v Charlton Athletic

Liverpool v Arsenal

Manchester United v Aston Villa

Peterborough United v Plymouth Argyle

Portsmouth v Wigan Athletic

Torquay or Leyton Orient v Southampton

Chelsea v Macclesfield Town
Car Expert
The two Bristol sides are at home again - that's if Bristol Rovers get past Bournemouth in the replay.

Home to Burnley is a good tie for us - glad we didn't get Luton! laugh.gif
Shame Orient couldn't get a Premiership club.

Seems to be a few all-Premiership clashes this time round - I don't think there were any in the 3rd round last year.

Car Expert
andante_in_c
Well, we may not be playing in the Final again this year. sad.gif sad.gif
Car Expert
Just realised it's Liverpool v Arsenal in the Carling Cup as well! ohmy.gif

So Arsenal have to make 3 trips to Anfield soon (1 on the 31st March as well)...

Last-minute goal by Charlton - now replaced by Watford at the foot of the table.

Boo Radley
Just found these Barry. Good job we don't bet for money, eh? biggrin.gif

Boo's Prediction:
QUOTE
Have we had season predictions yet? I reckon:

Prem:
Champions - Chelsea
Runners-up - Arsenal
3rd place - Liverpool

18) Wigan
19) Sheff U
20) Watford

Championship:
1) Crystal Palace
2) West Brom
Play-off winner: Southampton

22) Coventry
23) Colchester
24) Southend

Barry's Prediction:
QUOTE

I did a similar post earlier, but I'll put my predictions in a slightly better form here.

Premiership : 1. Chelsea, 2. Arsenal, 3. Liverpool, 4. Manchester United

18. Manchester City, 19. Middlesbrough, 20. Sheffield United (Aston Villa should be OK I feel with O'Neill as manager, Everton I think will just survive).

Championship : 1. Crystal Palace, 2. Leeds United, Plymouth Argyle up through play offs.

22. Sheffield Wednesday, 23. QPR, 24. Colchester United.
Boo Radley
The Prem is actually shaping up to be quite exciting now with only 1 point between 3rd and 9th place. smile.gif
Car Expert
...And Reading gunning for a Champions League position with a win/draw against Newcastle tonight biggrin.gif

My Championship predictions are as follows:
1st: Preston NE
2nd: Birmingham
Play-off winner: Stoke
22nd: Hull
23rd: Barnsley
24th: Southend

Still not sure who will get relegated into the Championship apart from Watford...

I think Macclesfield will survive in League 2. They look a much better team than they were a few weeks ago.

And I reckon Dagenham & Redbridge will get automatic promotion to the Football League wink.gif

3-1 in favour of Manchester United. smile.gif

Car Expert
Reading lost sad.gif ... oh well, we can only look forward to Watford at the weekend...

Car Expert

Poor Charlton.

16.40 - Put on TV, Leicester winning 1-0
16.45 - Glance again at TV, Leicester drawing 1-1 dry.gif
Car Expert
And another glance sees Leicester beat them 2-1 wink.gif

Another goalless draw at Vicarage Road for Reading. Still, it means we're one point ahead of Arsenal biggrin.gif

The top two in the Conference both lost, and Macclesfield get their first away win of the season.

Car Expert
nicki_flute
and we're 18th in the table - not great, but better than yesterday biggrin.gif

Think you might have got the backlash from last week as well. sad.gif

Signor Dante-in-C (Chelsea supporter) is looking forward to this afternoon's match rather less than No 3 son and I. He's got more to lose. wink.gif
