Oops, Barry beat me to it...

Cambridge 1-0 up. Perhaps there'll be an upset there instead...
Nope, Cambridge Utd are out of the Cup after a late winner by Neill Collins.

Still 0-0 between Swansea and Havant & Waterlooville.

2-1 to Tottenham now sad.gif

Reading have earned a replay.

Well done to Havant & Waterlooville, who have earned a replay against Swansea. Wonder if they'll be able to play the replay at their own ground...

So far with my predictions, I've only got 5 correct results and 1 perfect score (which was the Charlton match)...

Car Expert
barry-clari
1-1 is OK I guess. At least we have a second bite of the cherry.

The Oldham and Coventry results were very impressive.
Car Expert
As many as 12 Premier League teams could be out at the third round stage!

FA Cup 4th Round Draw

Good draw for Havant & Waterlooville, but I think Swansea will win the replay as it's been a while since a non-league side has reached the 4th round. Nevertheless, Swansea have faced all non-league sides so far, so at least it's a good reward for them in the end.

Don't mind if we go through or not now as we have to face Man Utd in the league the weekend before...

Well done boys (Oldham)! biggrin.gif

Great result, shame we didn't get Man U in the 4th round.

What do people think of the draw?

I'm old enough to remember Oldham in the Premiership...

Draw looks OK, but I fear it'll be irrelevant to Charlton, because I have a feeling West Brom will finish us off in the replay... sad.gif

My predictions for the FA Cup 4th round ties:

Southend 1-0 Barnsley
Liverpool 5-0 Havant & Waterlooville
Mansfield 1-1 Middlesbrough
Arsenal 1-1 Newcastle
Wigan 0-2 Chelsea
Portsmouth 2-0 Plymouth
Peterborough 1-2 West Brom
Oldham 1-1 Huddersfield
Derby 2-2 Preston
Watford 0-0 Wolves
Barnet 1-0 Bristol Rovers
Southampton 2-0 Bury
Coventry 2-1 Millwall
Man Utd 2-1 Tottenham
Sheff Utd 0-1 Man City
Hereford 2-1 Cardiff

So I've predicted Cupsets for Mansfield, Newcastle and Hereford.

Charlton are out of the FA Cup.

sad.gif

I can see Wigan winning, I think Arsenal will pull Newcastle apart, and the most likely upset to me seems to be Preston at Derby...

sad.gif
So are Reading

and Leyton Orient

and Lewes*

sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

*Lewes probably could've got to the 4th round if we did beat Mansfield in the 1st round - we would probably have beaten Harrograte Railway and then there was the local derby against Brighton which could've gone either way...

Goodness me... Havant & Waterlooville have actually take the lead biggrin.gif

Car Expert
Car Expert
In the end, it wasn't to be for Havant sad.gif. But they can hold their heads up high after a great performance.

At least nine non-Premier League sides will now be in the 5th round after Preston's thrashing of Derby. No replays are needed so far.

As far as my predictions go, I've so far got 5 correct results and 2 perfect scores (Coventry and Southampton). I've also predicted the right number of Liverpool goals too.

Very happy at the end of our trip, but I wasn't quite so sure at half-time... blink.gif

The Emirates is a great stadium, and our transport arrangements worked surprisingly well - we drove into Richmond and took the Overground to Highbury & Islington because of engineering work on our normal route. Coming back we got straight on a train after arriving at the station, and even had seats all the way to Richmond. Much better than I expected. smile.gif

So that was your first visit to Arsenal's new home, I guess. How does it compare to the old place (assuming you've been to the old place)...

Yes, first visit. The first time I've been able to get tickets . sad.gif Much better view, although Highbury wasn't bad, and much more comfortable seats. And no all pervading odour of burgers-and-onions either. tongue.gif I wasn't sure about the atmosphere, but it improved as the match went on. The Newcastle fans seemed a great lot. It must be awful to have a long trip back like that after losing 3-0 and going out of the cup.

Glad you enjoyed your day, and the result!

Tickets are generally easy to come by for Charlton games. And the stadium does tend to have that burger and onion aroma wafting around... laugh.gif

So only 6 Premier League sides remain in the FA Cup (the big four + Middlesbrough and Portsmouth). Could be a chance for one of the lower league sides to do a Millwall?

Nope. 1957 was the last time this occurred.

FA Cup 5th Round Draw
Bristol Rovers v Southampton
Cardiff City v Wolves
Sheffield United v Middlesbrough
Liverpool v Barnsley
Manchester United v Arsenal
Preston v Portsmouth
Coventry City v West Brom
Chelsea v Huddersfield Town

With three non-Premier League sides guaranteed a quarter-final place and Sheffield United playing Middlesbrough, there could be a non-Premier League team in the semi-finals at least. Man Utd v Arsenal and Cardiff v Wolves will be interesting.
