Chelsea won 2-1. A fitting way to end Hiddink's temporary spell as Chelsea manager.

Everton's goal at 26 seconds...that was crazy!!!!

Brendan Rodgers has been appointed as Reading manager. He was advised to take up the job by Jose Mourinho apparently...

We'll have to see whether he's able to make Reading promotion contenders...

A little late with the news, I know, but it is looking good for England...
Car Expert
It is indeed. Croatia and Ukraine drawing has certainly helped us.

The U21s have just thrashed Azerbaijan U21s 7-0 biggrin.gif

Hopefully the senior players can do the same against Andorra...

I'm guessing Exeter. It always seems that at least one promoted side will get one relegated side first up (as that's what happened with Reading last season v Nottm Forest)...

I havent seen any fixture lists yet. I'm looking forward particularly to Tranmere Rovers playing Charlton (which Barry and others support) , and to them also playing Leeds again (one win each last season), whom my work colleagues support, and also they will play Norwich , whom my in-laws tend to follow .
But I will also have a soft spot for Burnley (now back in the Premiership) who were the first team I ever watched in 1959-60, when they won the 1st (premier now) Division.

The beginning of the season is probably the best time for any team to play Newcastle as it'll probably take some time for them to adapt to Championship football.

There is 1 month and 2 hours left before the football season starts again. Not sure if that should get a sad.gif or a biggrin.gif

It feels like it's still a long ways away (sad.gif) although it's gradually getting closer (biggrin.gif)

New Reading manager Brendan Rodgers aims to take the Royals not only back to the Premier League, but also to compete in Europe. Is it me, or is that a little bit too ambitious? unsure.gif

Still, there are other ways - we'd only have to win the FA Cup or Carling Cup. However, we've never managed to do either of those things tongue.gif

I remember 1966 well, it was at end of my first year at Nottm Uni. I was 19.

1966...I were nearly 10, we were dreaming of moving out of our semi detached puddle, Mother was asking pit owner if he had a job for me, Father were trying to catch a rat for supper. Eeh, them were the days!

Very sad news.

I remember Italia '90 : it was a fine effort on the part of the England team, and they were unlucky not to go all the way to the final. Bobby Robson was much underrated as the England manager...

R.I.P.

A loss to the game - Robson was a rare breed of gentleman in football.

On Saturday 8th August, Charlton will be beaten by Wycombe. We have bought very little, and sold lots. Not good...
