I'm still feeling a bit fragile from the loss of Southgate I know it will take a bit of time for the team to adjust to the new manager, but it really was an abysmal performance.

I know he's a local lad and all that, but David Wheater needs to be relieved of the captains armband - he's gone really downhill since he was given it and the responsibility is clearly detracting from his defending. I've also now managed to establish why there was over 6 mins of injury time, and it's because Poggy is injured again. So, all in all, not at good day for Middlesbrough...

The one possitive I can think of is that perhaps Jinky's missed penalty will stop the premier league clubs from sniffing round him and unsettling him.

I saw the result, and have to admit to having torn loyalties. I didn't want your team to lose but at the same time I have a bit of a soft spot for Carlisle. I think I was happiest when it was 1-1.

We've got Crystal Palace away next. We're better away then we are at home, but I have the impression that they are quite strong at home.

Have just noticed that we have now swapped places with Blackpool on the table and are now out of the play-off places even though we were above them an hour ago. We have the same number of points, the same goal difference and have scored the same number of goals, plus we have won one more match than they have, so what criteria has been used to decide which of us goes above the other?

At this early stage of the season, it's probably alphabetical order, but at the end of the season if teams can't be separated by goal difference/goals scored/head to head record, I believe it comes down to disciplinary record.

Well, what can I say...This week I'm not sure I've ben watching the right team play! Two 4-0 wins in one week?! For Pompey?! I've been a supporter for my entire life, born and bred, and I don't think I can remember that ever happening before!!

I don't want to jinx anything, and I know we're still at the bottom of the table, but if we can win our next two we could go up about 4-6 places I think (dependent on other results), so maybe things are finally looking up!!

What on earth are Newcastle doing with their new stadium name. I'd probably get chucked off the forum if I wrote what I thought of it. I feel sorry for their fans...
