Reading beat Luton 1-0 in the carling cup! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Why on earth did Tottenham lose to Grimsby! And that Wycombe v Aston Villa game must have been good! (score: 8-3 to Villa; 3-1 to Wycombe at half-time)

Yes, the team were reading a book while playing football, and somehow they won! They should be in the Premiership if they can do that!

Hmmm *even more impressed* seems he's quite famous. I typed him into Google and found this:
'Johnny Carey was born in Dublin in 1919 and had an impressive footballing career. He had been the inspirational captain of Manchester united, Ireland and the Rest of Europe.
His career as a player had been a winning one and he had collected league championships, an F.A. Cup winners medal and a Footballer of the Year award. He was admired by his peers for his skill, versatility and gentlemanly attitude to the game.'
Did the footballing genes make at as far as you Nat?

I've only just seen this thread. There is only one team and they are a cut above everyone........LIVERPOOL!
They are unquestionably the most successful British team ever. Before anybody gets on a high horse about Man Utd, Liverpool (apart from Nottingham Forest) are the only British team to have defended successfully the European Cup.
I was in Istanbul amd am fortuante to have been to two other European Cup finals as well as seeing them win everything else several times over.
I am very fortunate to have followed such a team that has only known continued and consistant success.
Any Chelsea supporters........you'll have to win the league an awful lot of times to even begin to be able to be compared with liverpool!

I've just been watching 'The 50 Greatest England goals' on Sky. Sad, I know, but it's been a long day and I'm not up to doing anything more intellectual.
I'm sure you're all panting to know the top 3 (if you're going to watch it later, look away now

):
In reverse order:
3. David Beckham's free kick against Greece
2. Michael Owen's goal against Argentina
and....
1. Geoff Hurst's third goal (and England's fourth) against West Germany in 1966.
They think it's all over...
It is now.

They so nearly won today, but conceded a goal in the 88th minute and drew. Stupid people!
