Then again, it's similar to Reading last season. Boro have won five league games so far this season. The same weekend last year, Reading only just managed to win their fifth game of the season, and both teams have similar points as each other this time last season as they do this season (if you see what I mean).

The only difference is, Reading were not in the bottom three at this stage. Yet we were four points adrift from safety at the end of January as we still losing games in the league up to that month, and we still managed to finish in the top half. All you need is a bit of belief (and maybe a confidence-boosting FA Cup run).

I think the reason why Newcastle snooping around Wheater has irritated me is it feels like they're saying "haha we're in the Prem and you're not so now we're going to have your players because we're in the Premiership". Sunderland have been in the Premiership for longer now, it's not like they've just gone up and are rubbing it in.

Yes. Babybird and I were talking about that earlier. I know it's kind of mean, but part of me feels that they should go down now to teach Mike Ashley a lesson. You'd have thought he's have realised from the season before last that unnecessary managerial changes can = relegation.

And that's before we get to the fact that it's a rather mean thing to do to Chris Hughton, who does seem to be a decent manager. I suspect he'll soon find employment elsewhere, with a club that will appreciate him.
