The BBC still haven't got the opening paragraph of the Charlton-Reading match report right:

League One side Charlton pulled off a Carling Cup upset with a second-round victory over last season's Championship play-off finalists Reading.

It was a first round match, not a second round match...rolleyes.gif

sad.gif At least Hearts didn't lose any more goals.

Scunthorpe pushed Newcastle into extra time in their Carling Cup match, but couldn't quite do it. I would have so laughed if the Barcodes and Mackems had both been knocked out and we were still in it. rofl.gif We don't have much in the way of NE bragging rights at the moment...

Yes, but I'm kind of a bit fed up of all the Newcastle and Sunderland supporters turning their noses up at us because we aren't in the same division as them. wacko.gif

(Although I must admit I have been enjoying being in the Championship blush.gif - it's nice to have a chance of actually winning matches rather than being beaten every week by rich teams).

Well, I had a fun day yesterday following the backwards/forwards on/off excitement of transfer deadline day. smile.gif It was the most exciting on for the Gunners that I remember, and I was pleased with the outcome. I was particularly pleased that Wenger did not spend silly money, although it remains to be seen how smoothly such a large number of new players will be integrated into the squad. The main thing is that we now have sufficient cover for players missing through injury or suspension, and the squad looks much more secure. smile.gif

If England and Montenegro are tied at the top, it actually goes down to the head-to-head record, not goal difference. So if Montenegro beat England and win their other game, they will go through.
