Piece by Ravel: Pavane pour une infante défunte
(Pavane for a Dead Princess)
Does anyone know what level(grade) this piece would be evaluated at.

I've just completed the first page of four and I find it not only nice to listen too but nice to play.

I give it to grade 8 standard students; the later pages are technically demanding.

Yes, a lovely piece and even though it sounds "simple" when you listen to it, it is quite challenging in parts with some awkwards stretches. As Steve mentioned, towards the end when the main theme re-appears in a modified form, it's quite tricky to get the balance of parts right in order to keep it flowing.
