just thought id let you all know, i got my results for my grade 8 sax exam today and I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am completely shocked and cant believe it!!! Igenuinely thought id failed!!!

here are break down of marks

piece 1 - 23
piece 2 - 23
study - 25

scales - 16
Sightreading - 16
Aurals - 14 (bloody bloody ######!!!!!!! this is a complete fluke!!!!!!)

IM SOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, congratulations to you!!!

It must be an amazing feeing to pass Grade 8, it's like the pinnacle of years of hard work! Well done, any idea what you're going to do next?

thanks everyone!!! i only started playing 18 months ago so i think im gona have a rest for a bit and just enjoy playing cos all ive done since i started is exam after exam!!! grade 5 then 8!!! ive had a look at dip syllabus too so maybe i'll have a look at a few of those pieces but i dont intend taking it for quite a while yet!!!

Good for you. Which pieces did you play and why ? I'm hoping to do Grade 8 Alto Sax next year - I know they're going to change the syllabus soon but some pieces may remain the same. I've had a great long break from classical sax playing and have just restarted lessons, so I hope to be able to achieve what you've just done. Go and celebrate!

She did, E.Coates - SAxo Rhapsody, Wood- Schwarzer Tanzer, and Rae- Tabasco

I'll be surprised if any of the pieces are the same
