Hello there. Who plays tuba, or thinks it is cool? I'm a grade 7/8 tuba player in the SYWB (Suffok Youth Wind Band) (Any other members out there? i guess you'll know me it's ed)
So, tubas are cool. KNow any good repertoire?? I've got the Tuba concerto by Vaughan-Williams. And others. It's hard.
Please reply if you play tuba or not i dont care you just have to love the tuba it's cool.

Tubas are cool - listen to steve sykes CD's, they full of great tuba solos. A solo doesn't have to be written for your instrument - half of what I play isn't, you could find or make an arrangement of practically any solo that took your fancy for yourself.

My friend plays tuba. She's also playing the Vaughan William tuba concerto and complaining about how hard it is, so she'll be glad someone else is finding it hard!
She's trying to get a piece of music called "tuba smarties" I think which she says has some quite cool and jazzy pieces.
I've played tuba when she as trying to teach me, and I can play the Mexican Hat dance! And an Eb major scale!lol

Hey there, I play the tuba aswell and am hoping to take Grade 8 this christmas. The pieces I'm playing are: Andante & Rondo by Capuzzi, Study 32 from Vladislav Blazhevich's 70 studies for Tuba and finally the first movement from Joseph Horovitz Tuba Concerto. I would really recommend you trying out the Horovitz - though be warned it is really hard!!!
Tubas are cool!

Hey yeh andante and rondo really is super!! I played andante for G5 and rondo for G6 so it was great to hear they both make G8!! Super stuff! I've also just got a besson sovereign!! We bought it from Normas in Burton-on-Trent i think! It's awesome and I figured i'd be needing my own for Uni. My range is alright.. ish! Yeh i can make A 2oct below aswell but my higher register really needs work espically for the Horovitz piece! G
