How about we hire a big minibus and tour the UK, going to 5+ different venues throughout the day (or maybe week?) and getting performances from members everywhere?

LOL.... The Adult Learners Roadshow.... cool.gif

Just reading through the programme on here and now I can put faces to the forum members.

Have to say once again what an enjoyable day it was. Everyone was extremely good, but I will now embarrass YetAnotherPianist and say you were brill.

David,Nicola and Ian ( I will never forget The Godfather theme unsure.gif ) are my pupils. And I must say Londonderry Air was in the style of Ian.

Exams are looming nearer for all of them soon. David is G4,Nicola is sitting her Dip and Ian is G2.

I also thought the Guitar Workshop brought in a nice contrast of folk against classical.

Katyjay - a nice Aria from Semele next year?

Thanks Sbhoa for posting the programme. Pleased to know that all went well - it looks a good mix of pieces and styles.

Thankyou user posted image

Do let us know how your pupils get on in their exams; I was particularly impressed by Nicola's playing on the day, and of course by the duet smile.gif
StuMac
If you send me the group photo, then I'll put it on the board with the others. Samer goes for anyone else with any photos!

I've got a few more I'll post this evening.

Thanks again for all the work involved in organising such a good day, it was nice to browse through the programme again!!

Thankyou. I had quite a bit of trouble pursuading Nicola to perform Doctor G and the duet was only agreed upon to calm her nerves.

I'm sure you would laugh if you had been a fly on the wall during some of Ian's lessons.

Since I have seen them all now for their individual lessons, they have all agreed it was very beneficial and David said he now realises just how much practise is needed. Incentive enough to practise without the teacher saying so!

Take care and I hope to hear you perform again in the future.

Many thanks to Susan and Stumac for this as I was itching to see it.

Jane - Suzy and myself were at the local Tesco's feeding the boy when this pic was taken. It took longer than anticipated because we went the wrong way...and we wanted to buy a card and a pressie as a neighbour had given birth to a lovely baby girl and this was the only chance we had ( 60 hours in labour without an epidural...wow! ) and I just had to see the little mite. She is gorgeous with lots of black hair.

Therefore Semele's appearance remains a mystery to everyone except the dear people that attended the Concert. wink.gif
