if you accept (and are grateful for) all the valuable advice you've received, then you're not missing anything. just follow it and stop complaining - sometimes we all hear things we don't want to. if you don't want to read through all 18 pages then here's a summary:
1) work on appropriate repertoire (i know, i know...you've agreed to this, don't tell me again)
2)don't go around claiming to be perfect/playing at diploma level/making misleading comments about the length of time you've been playing/etc,etc
3)LISTEN to advice and don't be defensive, sure you should question things you don't understand/agree with but don't just ignore it or this thread will just go on and on...
4)if your teacher shares the views you expressed at the start of this thread, find a new one, because they are obviously seriously deluded and/or just a bad teacher.
5) use the edit function instead of quoting the past 800 posts and putting a one line reply beneath it. it's a waste of your time and everyone elses.
...i'm sure if i've missed some advice someone else will fill you in
and may i take this opportunity to thank you all for some top-class entertainment
