At the moment, I am only playing the piano, but I really want to
take a second instrument. I've always loved the violin, but it looks
so hard. Dare I try it? How long does it take to get the hang
of it?

it's certainly as hard as piano, but if you have a good ear there's no reason why you shouldn't do i- you'd need a teacher though.

i'm in the same position with a violin except no teacher i think i might develop some bad habbits!

It depends whether you want to take it up seriously or just try it out. I play the violin and it was hard at first but I've had really good teachers... see what the teachers are like in your area before commiting yourself.

I wanted to learn so badly I did it the other way round- commited myself before checking out the teachers!
