Hi Sarah

try to do some calming or relaxation exercises just before the concert slow breathing, that sort of thing. If you know anyone who does yoga, they might be able to give you some tips.

Hope it goes well. You'll probably surprise yourself!

Hi Sarah

The following book may be of help to you:

Keeping Your Nerve - Confidence Boosting Strategies for musicians and performers. By Kate Jones

ISBN 0-571-51922-9

Faber Music

It is only a short book and very easy to read, aimed at the young and amateur performer. It has some useful tips and explains about stage fright and anxiety. It also has advice from professional musicians about how they cope with performance anxiety. unsure.gif

My advice to you, is to just try not to think about it. Just keep telling yourself, "There's nothing going on...I have nothing to worry about." I know it might sound stupid, but it really helps for me. I hope everything turns out all right, if it didn't already.

the most important thing to do before a concert is to RELAX.... i know it doesn't sound realistic.. but remember, don't keep playing the piece on that day, just play some scales for warm-up... if you keep playing the piece on that day, things will get worse

i hope this will be useful, as i use this method to deal with any concerts or exams...
