Full Version: Sustain Pedal Malfunction

Well I've had my Clavinova for about 4 months now and the sustain pedal(right) stopped working. Tried to unplug and replug just in case but nothing. The other two pedals work. I plan on going to the music store tomorrow to bring the pedal frame and get it fixed.

Anyone else with a digital piano have this problem. I hope it won't happen too many times. Electronics !!!!!!

In the meantime, can you set one of the other two pedals to be the sustain pedal?

No, there is only one input for the three pedals. And on the CLP-120 there is no modifications possible for the damper pedal. You thread got me looking at the functions on the piano to make sure I didn't mistakenly shut off the damper function. But there doesn't seem to be such an option.

It was working ok earlier today and while playing it just stopped working.

Got it to work biggrin.gif

I put my finger on the small pad where the pedal depresses and hoped it would do something. Well it did and now I got my sustain back. yahoo rolleyes.gif

Pleased to hear yours is ok now.

I had a similar (not identical) problem with the sustain ped on my 10 year old Clav. I thought it had gone for good, but it was still usable and I was waiting until
the summer holiday break to look for a replacement ........ suddenly a couple of weeks ago the problem disappeared. I have no idea why.

I suppose it will lull me into thinking it's fine - then two weeks into next term .....
