i have singing lessons at school, (but soon having private, yay!). But i was wandering, it's really weird i can't sing above the note G (G above middle C)... And it's bugging me, because i have to change my voice, and it goes all airy, and it sounds awful!!!!!!!!!!!!! how do i stop this? Or i guess it's just practise... i don't know!

This "airy" voice is called your "head-voice", so to stop it being airy you need to ether extend your regular range (I find the best way to do this is to do warmups everyday, each time stretching until it starts to become uncomfortable - this has extended mine), and to work on your head voice separately.

Hope this has been helpful.

hey,i also do singing in school but not privatly. In may just past i could not sing past a B above middle C but I was really determined to get higher so...
During the summer holidays i practiced scales on my piano just by playing 5 notes at a time eg:C D E F G, D E F G A, and so on and i would just sing la la la la la, then change the vowels about like e, o, i ,u ,a. I practiced every day getting higher and higher but never pushing my voice too much and now i can reach up to a D,E,F above middle C.so thats my exercises and warm ups. bye smile.gif
