Hey everyone, anybody in here like Opera music/know Renee Fleming? She's pretty talented and an amazing soprano singer. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had her latest CD By Request and what you thought of it. Especially the music from all the operas esp Act 2 of Madama Butterfly- my favorite track on the CD. here's a link of her latest happenings on ebay- signed CDs for her fans. You can also check out a track listing of this great CD.

Yes! I love opera and I love Fleming. I think that Renee Fleming is one of the best lyric sopranos I've ever heard. She's got this real power in her voice. I really like the way she expresses the music that she sings. smile.gif
Does anyone remember that album she recorded with Welsh baritone, Bryn Terfel? It was called Under the Stars, I think but it was a mix of light opera and songs from the musicals. I recently heard some songs from there, I think there a duet by Mozart on there, is there not? But it is lush though! biggrin.gif
She won a Grammy didn't she? Have you heard some of the other great sopranos as well? Some of my favourites include Angela Gheorghiu, Barbara Bonney and Cecilia Bartoli. I'd recommend you to listen to those singers. I think Bartoli has real power and she can sing such a wide range of notes. Her articulation is fantastic! I'm wondering whether anyone else loves these sopranos as well? unsure.gif
