Hi guys,

I was just wondering if any of you are doing grade 8 singing? if so, do you happen to know whether there are any recordings out there from other singers of 'A Piper' (Michael Head) & 'Ophelia's Song' (Maconchy). I have 'Music For A While' for my List A & 'Widmung' as List B. I am still trying to learn Ophelia's Song & A Piper and can't seem to find any recordings!! sad.gif Thanks!! Hope you're all well!! smile.gif

Have you tried searching on Amazon for recordings?

I had a quick look on Amazon but I can't see anything.

It's a pity that the AB don't produce CD's for each singing grade.

Trouble is, David, that with 135 items on the Grade 8 syllabus (yes, I'm sad enough to have counted!) at (say) three minutes per song you'd have six and three-quarters hours of recordings! I don't think they do CD's long enough for that! Or that anyone would by the set!

Cheers

I guess so, but there are so many, especially at the lower grades where recordings just don't exist.

ooo! I did Music for a While for my grade 8 - love that song! Widmung... i did that in my A-level recital and I borrowed a recording from a teacher, it was a Schumann Song Cycle CD (sorry that;s not an amzing help but a recording of it does exist somewhere!) x x
